Mottainai Grandma goes to the USA!?
Table for Two in the USA, is the group promoting food education program through washoku Japanese food to the children in the USA. They used Mottainai Grandma's picture book through #OnigiriAction.
It is said that there aren't many food education program in the USA but I hope that the gratitude of eating and the food to be promoted more.

Our finale event of #OnigiriAction was held at a DC public school as part of the Japanese Embassy's 'Embassy Adoption Program'. They learned about onigiri and the "Mottainai -don't be wasteful" concept. Through the Onigiri Action, children learned about the problem of food waste and what we can achieve by small action. Then students ate the left over rice grain saying "Mottainai" Mottainai Grandma book was a hit!
